Senior Java Software Engineer (w/m/d)

Your mission

  • Design, development, and maintenance of high-quality software solutions for complex distributed business applications
  • Helping shape technical design decisions and contributing to the architecture and further development of our software platforms
  • Developing clean, maintainable, and thoroughly tested code in accordance with modern software engineering best practices
  •  Building secure, fault-tolerant, and high-performance services with a strong focus on reliability, maintainability, and operational excellence
  • Optimizing application performance, resource utilization, and system responsiveness
  • Designing robust APIs and integrating distributed systems using modern communication patterns
  • Ensuring software quality through automated testing, code reviews, documentation, and continuous improvement
  • Collaborating closely with product owners, architects, QA engineers, and international development teams throughout the entire software lifecycle
  • Mentoring less experienced developers by sharing knowledge, promoting best practices, and contributing to technical excellence
  • Staying up to date on new technologies and proactively identifying opportunities to improve our products and development processes

Your profile

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field
  • 10+ years of professional experience in software development
  • Excellent knowledge of Java (Java 21/25 or newer)
  • Extensive expertise with Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, Spring Security, and the Spring ecosystem
  • Extensive experience in the design and implementation of RESTful APIs
  • Deep understanding of distributed systems and microservice architectures
  • In-depth knowledge of JPA/Hibernate and relational databases; experience with NoSQL databases is a plus
  • Solid understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and Clean Architecture principles
  • Experience designing highly available, fault-tolerant, and maintainable enterprise applications
  • Strong understanding of concurrency, asynchronous processing, and performance optimization
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Git, Maven/Gradle, Jenkins, GitLab CI, or similar tools
  • Experience with automated testing, integration testing, and test-driven development (TDD)
  • Excellent analytical skills, problem-solving abilities, and strong communication skills; fluency in spoken and written English and German
